Books!
People Who Deserve It
In 2009, I co-wrote People Who Deserve It, a Penguin-published anthology of social deviants—people like Slow-Walker Sidewalk Blocker, Express Checkout Cheater, and Girl Who Laments About Turning 25. It was the early aughts and everyone who had blogs got books and it was glorious. Co-written by my friend and former roommate, Tim Gordon.
How to Write Good 4 Advertisign
Copywriting is hard. Everyone can agree on a concept, but at the end of the day, it’s the writer who has to articulate it in a fresh way (usually in six seconds or less). I wanted to help junior copywriters who didn’t have the privilege of going to portfolio school get better at their craft and know when something was good. So, I wrote and edited this short guide with insights from famous writers, advice from senior Droga5 copywriters, and examples of great work. And since it was self-published, I could also put typos in the title for ironic flair.

A Great Week for Women
For a couple of carefree years before the world ended, my writing group hosted a monthly night of humorous readings, where we tickled paying audiences ($5 tickets, but still) with funnies. Guests included Karen Chee (Late Night with Seth Myers), Sarah Cooper (Everything’s Fine), Broti Gupta (The Simpsons), Ariel Dumas (head writer at Colbert), and many other women I was honestly shitting myself to share the stage with.
